Gaming News: Tekken Tag Is Back
>
Here’s another hot gaming news for you. Tekken fighting game series will be back this September with its 8th installment, Tekken Tag Tournament 2. The games was released way back 2011 only for the Japanese arcades and had an update last March 27, 2012. Namco is now planning to invade the console games by releasing Tekken Tag Tournament 2 this coming September for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Wii U will also be having its own version but later on this year.
Tekken Tag has been the talked of the town when it was first released and avid fans have been asking for a sequel featuring the later added characters of Tekken 5 and Tekken 6. Here’s a brief game review of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and what it has to offer.
Gameplay:
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is similar to its predecessor where matches involve each player having to select 2 fighters to play with. Players can then switch from one character to another in any time of the fight. Why do you need to switch characters you ask? To put it simply, characters that are tagged out will gradually recover some life and at some point will give temporary boost in strength which you can use to gain the upper hand. A player loses the round if either of his fighters gets knocked out. In case the time runs out, the player who has the most life remaining for both their characters wins the round.
The addition of Tag Assaults in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 allows players to dish out combos using both of their players. The game also uses features from the previous Tekken 6 such as wall combos, bound hits and character customization.
Game Mode:
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 allows a wide variety of game modes from arcade battles, team battles, versus battles, time attack, survival battles and even online modes. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has also an additional mode as Fight lab which allows training of their Combots.
Characters:
The game features over 50 characters to play with including the 41 characters from Tekken 6. Some returning characters will be from the original Tekken such as Michelle Chang and Prototype Jack. There are also some characters from Tekken 2 which will be joining the cast such as Jun Kazama, Angel and Alex. Forest Law, Tiger Jackson and even True Ogre from Tekken 3 will be playable characters. Even Jinpachi Mishima and Devil Kazuya will be seen on Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Now there’s only one question left, are you ready to rumble for Tekken Tag Tournament 2?
