Thieving Racoon is Back With Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be the next Sly Cooper game. After the successful migration of previous Sly Cooper games to the PS3, a brand new installment is finally in the offing that will pick up right where the last game left off. Apparently this time round someone is messing with history and it is up to Sly to reunite with the rest of the gang and stop them!
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Characters:
All of the four main characters in the series (Sly, Bentley, Murray and Carmelita) are playable once again and they really do start off right where you left them. Just in case your memory needs jogging, Sly is feigning amnesia and has run off with Carmelita while Murray has decided to pursue his dream of racing stock vans. The famed Thievius Raccoonus is in the hands of Bentley – but he starts to notice that some of the pages are disappearing right before his eyes, and realizes that means someone is tampering with time.
To protect the Cooper family legacy and restore the timeline, the gang will be joined by some of Sly’s other ancestors that have appeared in previous games such as Sir Galleth, Salim al Kupar, and Rioichi Cooper – all of whom will be playable and possess their very own special abilities.
Some of the antagonists that have been revealed so far include an old tiger war general named El Jefe who overthrows governments and auctions off entire countries to the highest bidder, a tyrant raging through Medieval England known as Grizzle B, and a songstress who has charmed one of Salim’s forty thieves with her music – Miss Decibel.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Gameplay:
Most of the hallmarks that made the previous Sly Cooper games so engaging have carried over to this latest edition, so expect huge open maps that are just begging to be explored, tons of stealthy missions, mind boggling puzzles, and enough thieving to satisfy even the most ardent criminal mastermind.
One new feature that looks interesting so far is the addition of various costumes that augment Sly’s skill set, such as a Robin Hood costume that will allow him to shoot arrows and create rope lines, and a suit of armor that will give him the ability to reflect incoming projectiles with a shield.
The new game is also set to take advantage of all the wonderful new technology that has cropped up in its absence, with better graphics and even support for stereoscopic 3D. At one point there was even a rumor going around that there would be a multiplayer mode – but no official confirmation as to whether or not that is true is out just yet.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Release Date:
Originally the game was slated to be released in the fall of 2012, but the latest announcement pegs it for a February 2013 release instead. Both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of the game will be available at the same time – and anyone who buys the PS3 game will find the PS Vita version bundled along as well.
The only real question now is whether or not you’re ready for an adventure that spans the globe and several different time periods chock full with action, theft and its fair share of mystery?
